Fanciti Deals — Browser Extension Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what the Fanciti Deals browser extension ("the extension") does with information when you use it. It is published by MoreThinks Solutions / Fanciti ("we", "us"). Questions: privacy@fanciti.com.
The short version
- The extension reads a page only when you click the Fanciti toolbar icon, and it checks the address of the page you are on to tell you when a site belongs to a Fanciti brand.
- When you open the popup on a supported shopping site, it reads a few details about the product on that page so it can show you comparable deals from Fanciti brands.
- We do not collect your name, email, address, payment details, or anything you type into checkout or forms.
- We do not sell your data, use it for advertising unrelated to showing you Fanciti deals, or use it to assess creditworthiness or for lending.
What the extension accesses, and when
Detecting Fanciti brand pages. To let you know when you are on a Fanciti brand's website, the extension checks the domain of your active tab. Wherever possible this check happens locally in your browser against a downloaded list of brand domains; the address is only sent to Fanciti to confirm a likely match and retrieve the relevant deal. We do not build a history of the sites you visit.
Reading a product page (on click). When you click the toolbar icon on a recognised shopping site, the extension reads, from that one page:
- The site domain and the page URL with the query string and fragment removed (so tracking parameters and search terms are stripped).
- The page title and the product title.
- The displayed price text and currency, where present.
- The product image URL, where present.
It does not read form fields, cart contents, account pages, cookies, or page text beyond the product details listed above.
How that information is used
The product details are sent over HTTPS to the Fanciti service for the sole purpose of finding comparable products and discounts from Fanciti brands to show you in the popup. The results are displayed to you and are not retained for any other purpose.
If you click one of the deals shown, you are taken to Fanciti, and standard Fanciti affiliate attribution may apply to that visit. This only happens when you choose a deal — the extension never injects affiliate links into pages or redirects you automatically.
Data stored on your device
The extension stores a small amount of data locally in your browser (chrome.storage), such as the time it was installed and a cached list of brand domains used for local matching. This information stays on your device.
Data sharing and selling
We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties. The only transfer is the domain/product details sent to the Fanciti service described above, which acts solely to return brand and deal information to you.
Data retention
Page details are processed to return recommendations in real time. We do not build a profile of your browsing from the extension.
Children
The extension is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
