Fanciti Deals — Browser Extension Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what the Fanciti Deals browser extension ("the extension") does with information when you use it. It is published by MoreThinks Solutions / Fanciti ("we", "us"). Questions: privacy@fanciti.com.
The short version
- The extension only checks a page when you open the Fanciti toolbar popup. It does not watch the pages you visit in the background.
- Each time you open the popup, it sends only the active page's site domain to Fanciti to look for a match. It does not send the page URL, title, or product details to the match service.
- It does not read page URLs, tab titles, product details, form fields, cart contents, cookies, or page text.
- We do not sell your data, use it for advertising unrelated to showing you Fanciti deals, or use it to assess creditworthiness or for lending.
What the extension accesses, and when
The extension uses Chrome's activeTab permission. This means it can only access the current tab when you open the toolbar popup — never silently and never on other tabs. Each time the popup opens, it reads only the current page's hostname to derive the site domain and sends only that domain to Fanciti. It does not read or send the page URL, tab title, page type, supported-site name, recommendation categories, product details, or other page content.
How that information is used
Each time the popup opens, the extension sends only the active page's site domain over HTTPS to the Fanciti match service at https://fanciti.com/api/browser-extension/v1/matches. The service uses that domain to look up public Fanciti deals and returns the result for display in the popup. The extension does not collect page URLs, tab titles, product titles, prices, currencies, image URLs, page types, supported-site names, categories, or other page content.
If you click one of the deals shown, you are taken to Fanciti, and standard Fanciti affiliate attribution may apply to that visit. This only happens when you choose a deal — the extension never injects affiliate links into pages or redirects you automatically.
The fallback destination is a generic Fanciti brands page with a fixed source=extension marker; it includes no active-page domain, categories, URL, title, or product details.
Data stored on your device
The extension stores one value locally in your browser (chrome.storage): the timestamp of when it was installed. It does not store a cached or downloaded domain list. The installation timestamp never leaves your device.
Data sharing and selling
We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties. The only active-page information transferred is the site's domain sent to the Fanciti service described above, solely to return brand and deal information to you.
Data retention
The submitted site domain is processed to return recommendations in real time. The match endpoint uses it for its database lookup and does not application-level persist it or build a browsing profile from it.
Children
The extension is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
